LSSC Children’s Theatre Production to steal the spotlight in “Robin Hood” play

The community is invited to a student theater production of “Robin Hood” that will be performed at the Lake Sumter State College’s Paul P. Williams Auditorium on Friday, October 27 at 7pm.

Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children age 6-12, and free for LSSC students, faculty, and staff.

In addition to the public performance, LSSC’s Theatre Arts Society will host special matinee performances for over 400 Lake County elementary school students.

“The college has a long history of doing children’s theater productions,” says Heather Elmatti, assistant professor and director of the production. “We want to make theatre accessible for all. These programs allow children to experience live theater at a young age.”

Elmatti also hosts a reader’s theatre program for students of local schools.

“Robin Hood” by Kathryn Schultz Miller blends the classic story of 12th-century Sherwood Forest outlaw
who steals from the rich and gives to the poor in an interactive feature that includes audience engagement and participation.
