LSSC aware of issues impacting Zoom users and meetings

As a large number of colleges, universities, and K-12 schools return to classes today, you may experience minor delays when logging in or joining Zoom meetings.

Some users are currently reporting these delays, particularly using the Zoom website.

If necessary, faculty members can schedule virtual meetings in Microsoft Teams and post a link in their Canvas course announcements. The Technology Help Desk (helpdesk@lssc.edu) can assist with that process.

Update 1 (9:00 am)

Zoom has acknowledged that some users are unable to visit the Zoom website (zoom.us) and unable to start and join Zoom Meetings and Webinars. They are currently investigating this issue.

Update 2 (10:00 am)

LSSC users are continuing to experience issues logging into the Zoom website and starting or joining Zoom meetings. This is an issue impacting Zoom users nationwide; Zoom has identified the issue and is working to resolve.

LSSC users are having more success logging in and participating in meetings through the Zoom desktop or mobile app. If you’re having issues with the website, you may want to try the desktop or mobile apps.

Update 3 (11:00 am)

Zoom is rolling out a fix for today’s issues. Zoom services should begin to return to normal.

Update 4 (12:40 pm)

Zoom indicates that they have resolved the issues related to starting and joining Zoom meetings and related issues with their website.

Users should not continue to experience issues.
