LSSC offering two drive-thru food distributions for LSSC students during Hunger Action Month

Following the success of the May food distribution event, where over 40,000 pounds of food were distributed to over 1,200 people, the LSSC Foundation will be hosting two drive-thru food distribution events in September.

Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, the LSSC Foundation has partnered with Lake Cares Food Pantry and Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida to bring these events to North and South Lake Counties for LSSC students.

At each event, over 20,000 pounds of food will be distributed. LSSC students will receive nutritious meal ingredients and fresh produce to last over a week.

Hunger Action Month is a time to mobilize the public to take action on the issue of hunger. All month long, Feeding America and its network of food banks, including Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, are encouraging people to take action through volunteerism, advocacy, special events and promotions.
