Lake-Sumter State College is proud to launch a laptop assistance program. Utilizing funds from the federal Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund, LSSC will be providing interested, enrolled students with their own personal Dell laptop, at no cost to the student.
A limited number of laptops are available in this program and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
In order to be eligible for a laptop, students must:
- Be enrolled in at least 6 credits for Fall 2021 on August 30, 2021
- Not be a dual enrollment or transient student
Eligible students will be notified via email and may pick up their laptop beginning Monday, August 30.
No technical assistance will be available for laptop setup, but students can refer to the Technology Help Desk for instructions on installing free Microsoft Office products with their Lakehawk account.
Technology options during the first week of classes
We know that students may need a computer to use during the first week of classes. Students can utilize the following resources during this time:
- Leesburg Campus Library & Learning Center
- Cooper Memorial Library (South Lake Campus) & Learning Center
- Sumter Center Library
