[Hurricane Ian] LSSC campuses to reopen on Monday, Oct. 3

Lake-Sumter State College will resume a normal operating schedule on Monday, Oct. 3 with classes resuming and employees returning to work.

A damage assessment was completed on all campuses, and the College’s Facilities and Grounds teams continue work to clean up and make repairs.

As we begin to reopen the College, we are aware that Hurricane Ian impacted different areas of our counties in varying ways. We continue to recognize that you may also need to care for your own family or repair your own property. Students should communicate with their instructors regarding their individual situation. Employees should contact their supervisor or Human Resources.

The College’s Emergency Deans are available to provide referrals and assistance in connecting you with College and community resources. Support is available in a variety of scenarios, including:

  • Displaced from their home
  • Experiencing financial difficulties or food insecurity
  • Experiencing mental or emotional distress

Students should contact deanofstudents@lssc.edu for assistance.
Employees should contact their supervisor or HR@lssc.edu.

LSSC is committed to providing you with the support you need to be successful, so please do not hesitate to ask for assistance.

We are incredibly appreciative of the first responders, lineworkers and power crews, and countless volunteers in our communities and across the state who are working around the clock to support the recovery process.
