Degree Overview

The Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Management (BAS-OM) program at Lake-Sumter State College educates leaders to effectively manage their organizations and positively impact their communities. Graduates of this program have diverse career paths open to them in a broad range of industries which may include: sales, retail, small business, government, public safety, healthcare, and not-for-profit organizations.

Designed for the working adult, the BAS-OM is an online program.

Admissions Requirements:

  • Completion of an A.S. or A.A. degree (or equivalent) from a regionally accredited institution
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5

Dr. Luis Ortiz (PhD in Educational Leadership) joined LSSC in 2017. Dr. Ortiz was instrumental in the development and successful implementation of the Spanish Culinary Arts program at Le Cordon Bleu in Orlando. Originally from Puerto Rico, Dr. Ortiz served in the United States Army for 14 years. He is happily married and has two children and one grandchild.
