Engineering Technology Early College Academy

Empower Your Future: Discover our Engineering Technology Support Specialist

The Engineering Tech Early Career Academy is a fast-track program to a College Credit Certificate. The Early Career Academy is a structured dual enrollment program that provides students an opportunity to acquire their associate’s degree or college credit certificate through a cohort class model. Students join the program with a group of students and take a predetermined sequence of courses that will eventually lead to an associate’s degree or certificate.

Overview

Students in this program can earn the Engineering Technology Support Specialist College Credit Certificate. This certificate will allow students to enter the workforce or continue their education to earn their Associate of Science in Engineering Technology Substation and Relay Technology Specialization. The program is only available to South Sumter High School or Wildwood Middle High School students.  

Program Cost

Tuition costs for programs and courses at the associate’s degree level are $109.73 per credit hour. Additional costs will include textbooks, materials, and course fees.

Students graduating from high school and enrolling at LSSC may qualify for other scholarships offered through the State of Florida. You will be notified of your eligibility after you apply to the College.

  • The ETAC Program provides a focus on an Engineering Technology career path. 
  • Students take all ETAC classes on the Sumter campus at LSSC. 
  • Engineering Technology Summits and Early College Day participation. 
  • Provides a 2-year program for eligible students.
