Microsoft Excel, Level 2

This course is designed for the intermediate Excel user. Students will discover new ways to analyze information, sort and filter data, explore more advanced formulas and turn numbers into eye-catching charts.

PREREQUISITES: Successful completion of Microsoft Excel, Level 1 or knowledge of material covered in Level 1.

DELIVERY METHOD: Instructor led, group-paced, classroom-delivery learning model with structured hands-on activities.

Operation of an Early Childhood Center (Director’s Credentials)

In this 45-hour noncredit course, you will fulfill the course requirements for the foundational level credentials for directors/administrators of childcare centers, as set forth by Florida Children’s Forum; increase your knowledge and skill level in a variety of administrative areas; improve your ability to secure a good job directing a high-quality center; and enhance your center’s ability to secure bank loans, corporate support and grants due to increased credibility.

QuickBooks, Level 1

This QuickBooks course provides essential coverage of the QuickBooks software. Topics covered include an introduction to QuickBooks, basic accounting principles, backing up files, creating companies, working with vendors, working with customers, banking with Quick-Books, and more.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Introducing the QuickBooks system
  • Presenting the QuickBooks software and some basic accounting
  • Creating a company
  • Working with opening balances, historical transactions and users
  • Working with vendors
  • Using the vendor center, lists, entering bills, paying vendors and reports

The Art of Real BBQ

BBQ chef, David Schaefer, former owner of Stump Jumper BBQ in Concord, MA, will teach the essentials for making the real thing. Students will learn about the right cuts of meats, sauces, and seasonings to prepare world-class Southern barbecue. Students will learn how to prepare succulent meats, such as Memphis Style spareribs, Carolina Style pulled pork, and Texas beef brisket, along with some of the side dishes that complement them. You will also learn about marinades, rubs, brines, and sauces while learning which ingredients are best for long, slow barbecue flavors vs. high-temp grilling, and how to create specific flavors for specific foods. Don’t forget your containers for leftovers!
