Update on LSSC’s response to COVID-19 (March 17)

Earlier today, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced additional decisions in the response to COVID-19 impacting the Florida College System, including moving all courses to remote delivery for the remainder of the semester. Remote learning for our courses will begin as scheduled after spring break, beginning March 23. Dual enrollment students are also expected to continue their coursework on the College’s schedule.

Faculty will be in touch with each of their courses regarding course-specific schedules.

The College’s Emergency Management Team will continue to meet this week to make decisions concerning ongoing campus operations and additional impacts to our campuses. You should expect additional communications from the College this week.

All information and resources related to the College’s COVID-19 response is available at www.lssc.edu/coronavirus.

As a reminder, LSSC has mobilized a team of Student Affairs staff to serve as Emergency Deans. These Emergency Deans are available to directly assist individual students who are in distress due to issues related to COVID-19. Please email deanofstudents@lssc.edu to communicate directly with an Emergency Dean for support.

Employees seeking assistance with emotional distress related to COVID-19 may contact the Employee Assistance Program. Information on accessing EAP services is available at https://www.lssc.edu/safety/coronavirus/#employee.
