The Federal Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act requires colleges to notify their campus communities regarding how to locate state law enforcement agency information concerning registered sex offenders. This act also requires registered sex offenders/predators to notify state officials of each institution of higher education the offender/predator is employed by or is attending as a student.

Florida Statute 775.21 “Florida Sexual Predators Act” and Florida Statute 943.0435 require sex offenders to register with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) within 48 hours of establishing permanent or temporary residency.

FDLE makes information concerning the presence of sexual offenders/predators available to local law enforcement and the public.

The FDLE searchable database may be accessed online or by calling 1-888-FL-PREDATOR/1-888-357-7322.
