BankMobile Refunds (Formerly Higher One)


Each registered student will be issued a refund selection kit from BankMobile, a third-party company responsible for processing LSSC student refunds. Except when credit card refunds are issued, this is how you will receive student refunds from LSSC.

Your BankMobile refund selection kit will be sent to your primary address on file with the College and/or through your LakeHawk e-mail.

Choosing a Refund Preference

Once you receive your refund selection kit, you must log in online at and select your refund preference.
Regardless of whether or not you anticipate receiving a refund, it is important that you choose a refund preference.

New Refund Options

Effective, July 1, 2017 Lake-Sumter State College ended its contract with Higher One/

We now offer the opportunity to set up your refund for out of pocket payments or financial aid credit as a direct deposit to the checking or savings account of your own. This is a one-time, one-step set up process.
To sign up for direct deposit, log into your LOIS account. Scroll to TouchNet Student Account Suite and click. This will direct you to the TouchNet website. It will not be necessary to sign in again as it will automatically sign you in based on your LOIS information.
On the menu across the top of this page, you will click on Refunds and it will walk you through the process of setting up for a direct deposit to your checking or savings account.
Be sure to also set up for text messaging so that you will be notified when your refund has been processed.
Please note: If you made a payment via debit/credit card through TouchNet and you are due a refund for any fees paid out of pocket, the refund will be made to the debit/credit used for payment first. Any other refunds, including financial aid balances, will be processed as a direct deposit, if set up, or mailed as a paper check to the address on file with our Admissions Office.

Accessing Account Information

BankMobile Vibe Account

The BankMobile Vibe account is a fully functioning FDIC-insured checking account.
If you choose to open a BankMobile Vibe checking account, you will receive a card in the mail. The card is powered by MasterCard© and can be used to make purchases anywhere MasterCard© is accepted.
As there is no PIN involved with the account, when using your card to make purchases, always choose “credit” instead of “debit” at the point of sale. Despite this, the card is technically a debit card and funds must be loaded on the card for it to work successfully.
