Media Advisory – LSSC & Duke Energy Host Lineworker Appreciation Day in Sumterville
 

Lake-Sumter State College and Duke Energy invite members of the media to participate in the 4th Annual Lineworker Appreciation Day event at Lake-Sumter State College’s Sumter Center.

National Lineworker Appreciation Day is a day to celebrate the hard-working men and women who build and maintain our electrical grid’s distribution systems. LSSC has partnered with Duke Energy to make this day an opportunity to showcase this high-demand career path to high school students in Lake and Sumter Counties.

WHAT: National Lineworker Appreciation Day Event, featuring live line safety and utility
pole climbing demonstrations

WHO: Nearly 150 high school students from Lake and Sumter Counties will attend to
learn about the role of the lineworker, careers in the energy industry, and educational opportunities at LSSC

Duke Energy Lineworkers & crew, many of whom are LSSC graduates

Community leaders and industry executives
