LSSC offering Continuing Enrollment Grants for Essential Workforce Students

Financial support to keep students enrolled for Spring 2021

Thanks to a partnership with Lake County, Lake-Sumter State College is offering students in Workforce programs financial support for Spring 2021.

Eligible students can receive a grant to cover the costs of up to three courses for the spring semester. These students were notified by email and grant applications are due on Monday, Dec. 14 at 8am.

“We are appreciative to the Lake County Board of County Commissioners for their partnership that allows us to provide another method of support for our students during the pandemic,” said Dr. Stan Sidor, President of Lake-Sumter State College. “Despite economic challenges, our students continue to invest in their future, and we are proud to provide them opportunities to continue their educational progress.”

LSSC offers over 30 degree and certificate programs, including high-demand fields such as nursing (ASN/BSN), electrical distribution, IT, cybersecurity, criminal justice, and more. New students can still apply to begin classes in Spring 2021. Get started at www.lssc.edu/enrollment.

Most spring semester courses will be offered online or hybrid with some online components to maximize flexibility to students.

Since the start of the pandemic, LSSC has provided over $1.8 million in scholarships, food distributions, and financial support to its students.
