LSSC Hosting Fall Welcome Back Bash for Students including COVID-19 Vaccinations Students with Swoop the Lakehawk at Welcome Back Bash in August 2019

Lake-Sumter State College is hosting its semiannual Welcome Back Bash for students next week. In addition to free food, live music, and activities including a rock-climbing wall, students can meet clubs and resources available on campus.

In collaboration with the Florida Department of Health, a mobile vaccine clinic will be available at both events to provide COVID-19 vaccines to students, employees, and the public.

Fall semester classes began on August 23rd with a mix of on-campus, online, and hybrid courses on the schedule.

“The College is very excited to welcome students back on campus and into our classrooms this fall,” says Dr. Heather Bigard, LSSC Provost & Executive Vice President. “Our flexible course offerings continue to offer a wide selection of online options for students who prefer those options. We believe that hands-on and experiential learning, particularly in rigorous science and health-related fields, is incredibly valuable to our students for building a foundation to begin their careers.”

The community is invited to participate to get their COVID-19 vaccine or learn more about Lake-Sumter State College.
