“We are very appreciative of the continued support from Ernie Morris Enterprises for student scholarships at Lake-Sumter State College,” said Dr. Laura Byrd, Senior VP of Institutional Advancement and Executive Director, LSSC Foundation. “As we continue to increase our scholarship awards, particularly in times of economic need, the generosity of our donors, including long-time donors like Ernie Morris Enterprises, allows us to support students as they complete their education and work toward their career goals.”

“EMEI is excited to continue its long tradition of supporting our community partners in education,” said Tim Morris, Vice President at EMEI. “We are proud that our endowment at the LSSC Foundation will support today’s students and the next generations of students. As students prepare for their life’s journey, their experiences at LSSC will support their career and personal success. Plus, the diploma that they earn from LSSC will continue to increase in value over the years.”

In 2021, the LSSC Foundation has awarded over $800,000 in scholarships to Lake-Sumter State College students – a record amount – in addition to food distribution, technology loan programs, and other economic support.
