Excitement Builds as Lake-Sumter State College Beach Volleyball Team Prepares for Inaugural NJCAA Beach Championship!

Get ready to hit the beach because the Lake-Sumter State College beach volleyball team is gearing up for the first-ever NJCAA Beach Volleyball National Championship! The tournament is at their home court, Hickory Point Beach in Tavares, from April 20th to April 22nd, and the Lakehawks are ready to compete.

As the fifth seed in the tournament, the Lakehawks have had a fantastic season, earning an automatic bid after placing second at the state tournament. With each of the twelve teams guaranteed to play two matches per day over three action-packed days, there’s no telling what will happen on those sandy courts.

The tournament will kick off with pool play on the first two days, and the Lakehawks are in pool four with the No. 4 seed Mesa Community College and the No. 12 seed Bryant & Stratton College – Wisconsin. On day three, it’s championship day, and the tournament will become single elimination, with teams competing for the national title.

The Lakehawks are eager to show off their skills and continue their streak. At the AVCA Small College Beach Championship, they took fifth place and won the silver bracket, proving they have what it takes to compete against NCAA Division III beach volleyball programs. They’re ready to take on the NJCAA competition and make their mark in the history books.

Their first tournament match is against Bryant & Stratton at 12:45 p.m., followed by a match against Mesa at 3:15 p.m. The results of these matches will determine their standing in the bracket, and anything can happen with all matches played to a decision.

Get ready for an exciting few days of beach volleyball action as the Lake-Sumter State College beach volleyball team competes against some of the best in the nation. Will they secure their place in the championship bracket? Will they win the “Pair of the Tournament” or “Coach of the Tournament” awards? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure – the Lakehawks are ready to make a splash at the NJCAA Beach Championship!
