The NSLS is the nation’s largest leadership honor society.
The NSLS is the nation’s largest leadership honor society. In addition to honoring excellence, the NSLS provides a step-by-step accredited program for members to build their leadership skills. Upon completion of the program, members receive their leadership certificate and take their place among the top student leaders on their campus and across the country.
NSLS is a recognized student organization at Lake-Sumter State College, started in 2019 and has inducted outstanding students every year. Our local chapter is part of the national organization with 800+ chapters and over 2 million members. Once you accept your nomination and join, your NSLS membership can follow you to any transfer institution with an NSLS chapter.

How do I become an inducted member?
Once you have paid your registration fee, you are considered a member with access to certain benefits. In order to become an inducted member, you must complete the following steps:
- Orientation: Complete the online Orientation followed by a series of questions regarding the material covered.
- Leadership Training Day: Complete the online event, followed by workbook questions and exercises.
- Three Speaker Broadcasts: View three speaker broadcasts.
- Three Success Networking Team Meetings: Members join meetings offered through the local chapter or the National Office. Members work independently on accomplishing goals, and submit bi-weekly goal write-ups discussing their goals, action steps, and progress.
Once you complete these steps, your induction kit will be mailed to the address on file.
