A student theater production of “Alice in Wonderland” will be performed at the Lake-Sumter State College Paul P. Williams Auditorium on the Leesburg Campus on October 19-20. This enchanting version of Lewis Carroll’s classic Alice in Wonderland was adapted by Kathryn Schultz Miller.
In addition to the play, LSSC’s Theatre Arts Society will also be hosting a Mad Hatter Tea Party featuring refreshments, cameo performances, and opportunities for pictures with characters from Alice in Wonderland on October 20.
The program will also host special matinee performances for over 900 Lake County elementary school students. Heather Elmatti, a LSSC faculty member and director for the productions, hosts this children’s reader’s theatre program for several area schools. This outreach allows children to experience live theater and makes the performing arts open and engaging for local elementary school students.
“I’m excited to provide another opportunity to share theatre with our local community,” says Elmatti. “We strive to make theatre accessible and fun for all ages.”
