Boot Camp Details – Career Ready in 7 Weeks
Time to get hands on in electrical distribution! This program consists of 270 hours of classroom instruction. Subjects include pole climbing and rigging, trucks and excavating equipment, safe work practices, basic electricity for line workers, and CAST test preparation. All books and PPE gear will be provided during class.
Students will need to purchase lineman boots and wear long sleeve shirts and loose-fitting jeans to class.
Upon successful completion of the program students will earn:
- OSHA 10 construction safety and health training with a completion card
- First Aid, CPR, and AED training with a 2-year certification
Boot Camp Schedule
The Lineworker Boot Camp meets at LSSC’s Electric Utility Institute, featuring a pole training area and substation equipment.

Class are held Monday to Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm with occasional call-outs.
Financial Assistance
Scholarships and financial assistance are available for those who qualify through CareerSource Central Florida and the LSSC Foundation.
Commercial Vehicle Driving (CDL)
NEW to the LSSC Sumter Center is the opportunity to get your CDL on our campus. Lineworkers will need their CDL and we just made it easier to get your license in just one week! Let us know below if you’re interested in learning more about adding CDL to your training program.
