Lineworker student works atop the utility poles
Linework student, Paul, installs equipment atop a utility pole.

Lake-Sumter State College’s Energy Utility Institute located at our Sumter Center is a leader in providing the training necessary to succeed in high-paying and in-demand jobs in the energy industry.

Lineworkers are the hard-working men and women who build, maintain, and repair the electrical grid across the country to keep electricity flowing to homes and businesses.

These Utility Distribution programs prepare students to enter the high-skill and high-wage industry of electrical distribution. Students benefit from LSSC’s industry-aligned curriculum and training that reduces on-the-job training time for employers.
