One way we practice innovation is through quality online courses for our students.
Quality Matters is an Internal Review Process for faculty that assists in holding our curriculum to the highest standard. A QM membership offers training and guidance for improving the quality of online courses, a certification of quality in online education, and expert peer review.
Faculty members interested in pursuing QM Certification can start the process by emailing helpdesk@lssc.edu including your CRNs and asking to be added to the training group.

Florida Civic Literacy Requirement
The State of Florida requires students entering a Florida College System (FCS) or State University System (SUS) institution to demonstrate competency in civic literacy by the time they graduate, pursuant to s. 1007.25(5), Florida Statutes.
This requirement first became law in 2018 and was updated in 2021 with additional requirements. Beginning with the 2021-2022 academic year, newly enrolled students must demonstrate competency through completion of a civic literacy course and by achieving a passing score on the Florida Civic Literacy Examination (FCLE).
