ATHLETICS

We are a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA). Our student-athletes train all year in preparation for their championship seasons, including Lakehawk teams making 15+ appearances in various NJCAA Championships over the years, including five top 10 finishes.

CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS

We have active and engaging clubs in the arts, including a literary magazine and a musical society. The theatre club puts on an average of seven shows a year and has produced thespians who have won multiple FCSAA Theatre Student of the Month awards.

There are many active clubs and organizations on campus that make the student life experience a reality. From student government to honor societies and intramural sports to student publications, we offer a variety of interests and activities where you can apply your interests. Sometimes it’s about giving when it comes to student life, and our community service clubs offer exactly that.

Student Perks & Discounts

Enjoy exclusive perks and discounts available only to students. Save money on local shops, dining, events, and more while showing your student ID.

Strength and Conditioning Center

The Strength and Conditioning Center at the Leesburg Campus offers equipment for weightlifting and body conditioning. It’s designed to help you build strength and improve fitness in a supportive space.

Counseling 

Lake-Sumter State College offers confidential support services to help students manage personal, academic, or emotional challenges. The program provides access to resources such as counseling, crisis intervention, and referrals to community services and resources. It is designed to promote student well-being, helping students overcome obstacles and stay focused on their academic success.

Esports

The place for all things gaming on campus. Play, compete, and make friends who love games as much as you do.

Lakehawks’ Harvest Food Pantry

Lakehawks’ Harvest Food Pantry at Lake-Sumter State College, in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida and Lake Cares, is a resource available to all currently enrolled students who may be facing food insecurity. Lakehawks’ Harvest Food Pantry is a safe, confidential and judgment-free space.

Student Government Association (SGA)

The Student Government Association (SGA) is the official voice of the student body at LSSC. SGA organizes events, advocates for student needs, and works with college leadership to improve campus life. By getting involved, you can build leadership skills, connect with peers, and make a real impact on your college experience.

The Angler

The student newspaper at Lake-Sumter State College, providing news, features, and stories that highlight campus life, student achievements, events, and important updates. Student Wellness

Student Wellness at LSSC is dedicated to fostering student success by promoting holistic well-being through initiatives grounded in our values of Vision, Strength, and Spirit.
