The certificate serves as a pathway to health and STEM degree programs, with courses applicable to the College Credit Certificate (CCC) in Chemical Lab Specialist and the Associate in Arts degree. The program is offered through in-person and online courses.

Overview

This certificate prepares students for entry-level roles in lab settings, focusing on essential skills in communication, mathematics, and scientific practices. It also serves as a foundation for health and STEM degree programs, with courses applying toward the Chemical Laboratory Specialist Certificate and Associate in Arts degree.

Important Notes: All of the courses in this certificate can be applied to the Chemical Laboratory Specialist  Certificate and the Associate in Arts degree pathway. Many of the courses contained within this certificate fall in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) pathways and can be earned in conjunction. 

Program Length

2 semesters.

Program Cost

Tuition costs for programs and courses at the associate’s degree level are $109.73 per credit hour. Additional costs will include textbooks, materials, and course fees.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), as of May 2023, the national mean hourly wage for Chemical Technicians was $29.29, and the annual mean wage was $60,920. In Florida, the mean hourly wage for Chemical Technicians was $24.85, and the annual mean wage was $51,690.
