
The Emerging Lakehawks program is designed to prepare students for college enrollment and success at Lake-Sumter State College. The program provides free and ongoing academic, career exploration, and cultural opportunities, as well as college admission and enrollment guidance.
- Students enrolled at a high school in Lake or Sumter County school districts.
- Ambitious about attending Lake-Sumter State College in the summer or fall semester after high school graduation.
- First Generation students receive priority admission"
- Transportation to LSSC, meals, supplies, etc. will be provided for free
- Students who maintain favorable participation throughout the year will earn the opportunity to participate in educational and cultural field trips
- Supplemental instruction in math
- Dual Enrollment/ACT/SAT/PERT guidance and assistance
- Campus tours of Lake-Sumter State College
