
The Engineering Tech Early Career Academy is a fast-track program to a College Credit Certificate. The Early Career Academy is a structured dual enrollment program that provides students an opportunity to acquire their associate’s degree or college credit certificate through a cohort class model. Students join the program with a group of students and take a predetermined sequence of courses that will eventually lead to an associate’s degree or certificate.

10th - 12th grade
- Currently enrolled at Wildwood High School, South Sumter High School, or home-schooled in Sumter county
- Entering grade 10, 11, or 12
- 2.0 unweighted high school GPA
- Willingness to take classes in-person at the LSSC Sumter Campus
- Certificate can be used to go straight to work or continue on to LSSC’s AS in Engineering and Relay Technology
- The ETAC Program provides a focus on an Engineering Technology career path
- Students take all ETAC classes on the Sumter campus at LSSC
- Engineering Technology Summits and Early College Day participation
- Provides a 2-year program for eligible students
- Students who complete the program will graduate high school with a College Credit Certificate in Engineering Technology Support Specialist
