Degree Overview

The Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree is a limited-access program.  Acceptance into the program requires a separate application process in addition to College admission.  Interested students must review the program information packet which includes program core application requirements and selection criteria.  Program application preparation packets provide additional information and calendars specific to each program acceptance opportunity. 

Program students begin curriculum with foundational knowledge and basic skills.  Further study examines health alterations of body systems in chronic, acute, and critical states.  Program completes with a practicum course including an intern experience.  Students receive comprehensive learning opportunities through a combination of classroom and clinical experiences occurring at area hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and community health organizations.  Program graduates are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN to obtain licensure
