With the high demand in our regional workforce, the Training & Simulation Center on LSSC’s Sumter Center offers students the opportunity to earn a Commercial Driver License from the State of Florida.

As a Contracted Commercial Motor Vehicle Skill Test Site with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, students complete both their training and testing at this location.

Students in the CDL program will complete a week-long intensive program including air brake and driver training, preparing for careers in heavy and tractor-trailer trucking. However, additional training may be required for over-the-road trucking positions.
