Lake-Sumter State College has several youth development programs for students ages 6 – 18 years of age offered during the summer semester. These programs expand students knowledge, learn new skills and have an opportunity for exploration and discovery.
1st – 6th Graders
Kids’ College is an enriching summer program for school-age children to expand their knowledge, learn new skills and have an opportunity for exploration and discovery. Classes range from academics, sports, performing arts, crafts, and more!
6th – 9th Graders
Xploration is a new summer program designed for middle school aged students to experience hands-on, interactive and challenging courses. These tracks will put their skills to the test and provide them with a more advanced learning experience.
Aides In Training
10th – 12th Graders
A work-oriented volunteer experience designed for high school students to earn public service hours while also receiving leadership training and experiences.
High School Graduates
A paid work experience which provides support to youth programs and encourages student engagement by fostering positive relationships.
