As a result of the Florida Department of Education Emergency Order 2020 EO-02 the following requirements for initial dual enrollment eligibility from 5/13/20-12/31/20 shall be in place and will supersede previous statutory requirements as outlined in the Emergency Order.
- All sections of a common placement test must be successfully completed, through scores on a single test or combination of tests, for dual enrollment participation.
- Test scores must be less than two years old and may be mixed for eligibility purposes.

Steps to Enrollment
1. First Steps
Talk To your High School Counselor
To start the Dual Enrollment process you will need to speak to your High School Counselor to confirm that you meet the eligibility requirements.
In order to apply for Dual Enrollment, your Counselor will provide you with:
- The link to the Dual Enrollment online application
- A copy of your GPA verification
- A copy of your qualifying test scores
- High School Counselor Approval Form
2. After You’ve Been Accepted
You will receive an acceptance letter in the mail.

Attend New Student Orientation
Complete the Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR) new student orientation program.

Students with a 504 or IEP

3. What’s next?
Have classes approved
Meeting with your High School Counselor prior to the first fee payment deadline to get your classes electronically approved. Failure to have classes approve could result in students being dropped from their classes.
Textbook approval process
Once your Dual Enrollment classes have been approved by your High School Counselor and the LSSC staff you will receive an email directing you to pick up your textbooks.
Changes to your schedule
If you decide to make a change to your schedule, you are required to do so via your LOIS account and repeat the process by visiting your HS counselor and getting your courses approved electronically by the posted fee payment deadline. Once your new class is approved by your HS counselor and LSSC, you will receive a new email notifying you that your textbooks are ready to be picked up.

- Review all information on how to pick-up your textbooks at the Lake County Schools Office Dual Enrollment Webpage
- Access your course materials list for each class and bring a printed or digital copy to Lake County Schools Office
- Only students with vouchers from Lake County Schools Office can pick up selected course materials/textbooks from the Lake Sumter State College Bookstore
