All first time in college and dual enrollment students are required to complete SOAR prior to registering for classes. Transfer students are encouraged, but not required, to complete SOAR.

Be sure to submit your official high school transcript or a copy of your GED to Admissions right away. These documents contain information that is vital to the SOAR process.

You are ready to begin work on completing your SOAR requirement once you have been accepted to LSSC and know your LSSC student X-ID number.

Two-Part Program

Part I

Soar Part 1 is based in our Canvas system, which is the online learning management system for all of your classes. Your Canvas login information is your student email and password.

You must complete all of SOAR Part I, including the final SOAR I assessment prior to attending SOAR Part II.

Once you login into SOAR using the button below, you should select SOAR from your course list.

Part II

All SOAR II sessions will be facilitated in an online environment at this time. You will receive an email message 24 hours prior to the start of your online session with important documents and a link to the session.
When registering, please:

  • Enter your student ID number (XID) in the following format: X00_ _ _ _ _ _
  • Select a session that is appropriate for your student type: Dual Enrollment or First-Time-in-College
  • If you receive an error after clicking the link, try changing your internet browser

SOAR Part II sessions for Summer semester courses are now available. 

Fall 2021 SOAR Part II registration for students beginning in August will open on July 1st.
