Program Costs

Tuition costs for programs and courses at the associate's degree level are $109.73 per credit hour. Additional costs will include textbooks, materials, and course fees. Learn more about our tuition & fees.

Upon successful completion of the A.S Engineering Technology Substation program, a student is eligible to test for the following industry certifications:

OSHA 30 Certification
State of Florida General Contractor Certified License
State of Florida Building Contractor Certified License
State of Florida Residential Contractor Certified License
Construction Professional in Built Environment Projects (PMI-CP) Industry Certification

Upon completion of the program, students will be able to:

Demonstrate effective communication, both orally and in writing appropriate to the construction discipline to effectively manage construction projects.
Demonstrate understanding of the fundamental aspects of the legal system, laws and contract documents that affect the construction industry and the legal implications of managing a construction project. Students should be able to read and understand the importance of contract language and apply concepts to determine potential risks.
Effectively manage safety including planning, inspections, prevention and the administration of safety processes on the job site.
Analyze and determine construction costs such as indirect and overhead costs from a general contractor and/or construction manager perspective as well as review subcontractor cost estimates for accuracy and complete scope coverage.
Analyze construction documents for planning, the management of construction processes and to create construction schedules for a variety of construction projects.
Interpret the information from the construction documents for construction planning and management as it applies to the scope of work, sequencing and processes, submittals, RFI, addendums and change orders.

The State of Florida requires students entering a Florida College System (FCS) or State University System (SUS) institution to demonstrate competency in civic literacy by the time they graduate, pursuant to s. 1007.25(5), Florida Statutes. Beginning with the 2021-2022 academic year, newly enrolled students must demonstrate competency through completion of a civic literacy course and by achieving a passing score on the Florida Civic Literacy Examination (FCLE).
