Associate Degree Programs

AS Business Administration

The Business Administration, Associate in Science (A.S.) Degree is a dual-purpose degree for students looking to enter the business workforce. This program not only prepares students for a business program at a four-year college
or university but , it also provides introductory knowledge and skills necessary for students seeking employment or advancement in a business career.

AS Computer Information Technology

The Computer Information Technology degree prepares students to succeed and thrive in the information technologies workforce. By developing knowledge and skills in software, hardware, networking, and support, students are prepared to leverage their wide array of skills for success.

AS Criminal Justice

The Criminal Justice degree offers a rigorous course experience aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare students to work as criminal justice practitioners, supervisors, and managers in law enforcement agencies and other related workforces.

AS Engineering Technology

The Engineering Technology Substation and Relay Technology specialization program will prepare students for careers that involve a wide variety of technology processes, including the implementation and maintenance of energy, manufacturing, construction or transportation systems.

AS Health Services Management

The Health Services Management Associate in Science (A.S.) Degree prepares students for employment as health services managers in a variety of settings, once they gain experience working in healthcare services. Graduates of this program will have numerous employment opportunities leading to promotional opportunities in management positions such as medical practice manager or supervisor of a revenue-cycle related department in a hospital or other health facility.

AS Management Technology

This program is tailored for the technical college PSAV/clock hour program completer (commonly transferring from Lake Tech) to offer a sequence of courses that provides course content aligned with academic standards for success as a business leader/owner, including: communication skills, leadership skills, human relations, employability skills, principles of management, personnel management, and general business procedures. 

AS Nursing

The AS Nursing program is for students who want an entry-level career in Nursing. Through a mix of classroom instruction and clinical instructions, students will be prepared to serve in a wide variety of clinical settings. This program is a limited access program requiring a separate application process once the student is admitted.

Bachelor Degree Programs

BAS Leadership

The Bachelor of Applied Science in Leadership educates leaders to effectively manage their organizations and positively impact their communities. Graduates of this program have diverse career paths open to them in a broad range of industries.

BS Nursing (RN-BSN)

This program is designed for current RNs looking to advance their career. The RN to BSN program focuses on generalist nursing practice in increasingly global, diverse, and continually changing health care systems.

College Credit Certificates

Business Specialist

This program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in a variety of business environments, or to provide supplemental training for person previously or currently employed in management and supervisory occupations.

Business Operations

This certificate is designed to prepare students with the skills and knowledge needed for employment in entry level supervisory positions, customer relations representation, event coordinators, and business office specialists.

Business Management

This program is designed to prepare students for employment in supervisory and management positions. The content includes instruction in planning, organizing, leading and controlling a business.

Criminal Justice Leadership

This certificate is part of AS Criminal Justice Technology program and offers a series of courses that can lead to earning the full AS degree. This certificate is relevant for aspiring or current law enforcement or corrections professionals. This certificate qualifies as part of the FCC Coleman Strategic Training and Retention System.

Cybersecurity

This program will provide training needed to support professionals in the field of cybersecurity, computer and mobile device forensics to include the seizure, forensic imaging, and analysis and reporting of digital media needed for presentation in criminal or civil courts.

Engineering Technology Support Specialist

The Engineering Technology Support Specialist Technical Certificate is an applied engineering technical certificate providing introductory knowledge and is designed to meet the needs of highly skilled, technically competent people in a variety of skills and entry-level engineering positions.

Help Desk Support Technician

The purpose of this certificate program is to prepare students for employment as a Microcomputer Support Specialist, Help Desk Specialist, User Support Specialist, Technical Support Specialist, or Computer Repair Technician. It will help prepare students to sit for the A+ certification exams. This program can be useful for persons previously or currently employed in these occupations as well as for those new to the IT field.

Information Technology Analysis

This certificate provides introductory knowledge to prepare students for a wide variety of IT positions. It will also help prepare students to sit for the A+, Security+, and Network+ certification exams. This program can be useful for persons previously or currently employed in these occupations as well as for those new to the IT field.

Information Technology Support Specialist

This certificate provides introductory knowledge to prepare students for a variety of IT support positions. It will also help prepare students to sit for the A+, Network +, and Server+ certification exams. This program can be useful for persons previously or currently employed in these occupations as well as for those new to the IT field.

Internet of Things (IoT)

The purpose of this certificate program is to prepare students for employment as an IoT specialist. With the completion of foundational courses comprising this certificate, graduates will have gained competitive skills within IoT and IIoT (Industrial IoT) segments, which are applicable to a broad range of topics such as IoT automation, data management, monitoring (security), wired and wireless communication network protocols and prototyping for rapid testing.

Mechatronics & Manufacturing Automation

The Mechatronics program stresses understanding and demonstration of the following elements of the Engineering Technology: Maintenance Techniques, Computer Aided Drafting/Design Skills, Technical Communications, Maintenance and Operation of Various Industrial Components, Quality Control and Testing, Material Handling Protocols and Proper Usage of Tools and Instrumentation. Graduates of LSSC’s Mechatronics program will have been exposed to leading-edge technologies that will give them the skills needed to be highly competitive in the workforce and prepared with the necessary foundational skills sought by industry leaders.

Medical Information Coder/Biller

This certificate program is designed to provide students with the skills necessary to review and analyze health records to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures for patient healthcare encounters. The Medical Information Coder/ Biller certificate also presents information about healthcare reimbursement methodologies. Graduates from the Medical Information Coder/ Biller certificate program are advised to gain coding experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings before taking the AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist (CCS or CCS-P) Qualifying Examination.

Medical Office Management

This certificate program is designed to provide students with the skills necessary for employment in occupations such as: administrative medical or dental assistant, referrals, medical billing clerk, physician credentialing specialist, medical receptionist, medical secretary, or electronic health record support with the foundation to promote to higher level positions with experience.

Advanced Technical Certificates

Health Services Administration

The advanced technical certificate in Health Services Administration prepares students for supervisory roles in revenue cycle operations and to advance their career in any healthcare organization.
